Peru’s National Agrarian Health Service, SENASA, has approved the sanitary requirements for the importation of specified pathogen-free (SPF) chicken eggs from Ireland.
The requirements were established under Directorial Resolution No. D000020-2026-MIDAGRI-SENASA-DSA and provide a regulatory pathway for qualifying Irish SPF egg shipments to enter the Peruvian market.
Shipments must be supported by an official import permit issued by SENASA before departure and accompanied by the relevant official health certification confirming compliance with Peru’s sanitary and traceability requirements.
This development also provides a pathway for Ovagen’s germ-free eggs, further supporting access to high-quality biological materials for vaccine manufacture, research, diagnostics and pharmaceutical applications internationally.
The approval represents another positive development for Ireland’s life sciences sector and strengthens Ovagen’s ability to support scientific organisations across global markets.
